1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Ranhill Group bags EPC contracts for two power plants

The Ranhill Group bagged EPC contracts involving power plants in Chhattisgrah and Orissa.

The wholly-owned subsidiary, Ranhill Engineers and Constructors Sdn Bhd (Ranhill Engineers), is awarded the contract by Dheeru Powergen for 2x350 MW coal based power unit at Dhanras village in Korba district of Chhattisgarh. The order is valued at US$590.5 million (RM2 billion).

The contract is for the provision of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for the planned power plant, comprising US$172.5mil for onshore costs and US$418mil for offshore costs. Under the EPC contract, Ranhill Engineers' scope of works include design, engineering, material selection, supply to site, construction and commissioning for the complete plant and equipment.

Ranhill Engineers & Ranhill (India) accepted EPC contracts for a 300MW coal-fired power plant in Orissa that will be developed by KVK Nilachal Power. Raw water for this plant will be drawn from the Mahanadi River, located about 7km from the project site, while coal linkage will be obtained from Talcher of Mahandi coalfields. The contract is valued at $242.3 million (RM820 million).

The EPC works for this project are expected to commence by December 2007, with completion scheduled within 33 months from Notice to Proceed.
