Samsung Engineering in
consortium Linde has bagged an order worth Rs.7,050 crore from ONGC Petro-additions
Ltd (OPaL), a SPV floated by ONGC Ltd and Gujarat State petroleum Corporation (GSPC)
for setting up an ethylene plant in India.
The consortium
partners have been awarded the engineering, procurement, construction and
commissioning contract for the plant. In the contract, Samsung will have a share
of about Rs.2,350 crore in the order while Linde has secured a share of the rest
Rs.2,350 crore.
The plant is likely to
be commissioned by the end-2012, will be located in the SEZ at Dahej in Guajrat.
The plant will have a production capacity of about 1,100,000 tonne of ethylene
and 340,000 tonne of propylene per annum.
