Arshiya International,
the logistics and supply chain provider plans to invest Rs.530 crore to develop
a Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) at Sai village in Uran in Mumbai by
January 2010.
The FTWZ will be
spread over 200 acre. The debt equity ratio of the project is 2:1 and the
company is in the process of finalising the debt component with bankers.
Currently, the company is in the process of acquiring land which will be
completed by the second quarter of 2009 and thereafter construction of container
yard and container frieght station will be taken up and these two facilites are
scheduled to become operational by December 2009.
Apart form this, the
company intends to develop similar FTW zones at 4 other locations namely,
Khurja, near New Delhi, Nagpur in Maharashtra, Near haldia in West Bengal and in
Southern Indiais also awaiting the formal approval for another FTWZ project at
Khurja, near Noida. The Khurja projecct is estimated to cost Rs.430crore.
