Tata Projects (TPL),
an infrastructure arm of Tata Group, has bagged balance of plant (BOP) order
worth Rs.2,780 crore from Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company (APPDCL) for
its 2x800 MW super-critical coal fired Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power
Plant at Nellatur village near Krishnapatnam in Nellore District of Andhra
Pradesh.
The engineering,
procurement and construction (EPC) contract involves the basic and detailed
design, engineering, manufacture, procurement, supply, construction, erection,
testing and commissioning of complete BOP systems and equipment. The project is
scheduled to be completed in 36 - 39 months for units 1 and 2 respectively. BHEL
has been entrusted with the supply of boilers and Larsen & Toubro will supply
the turbines under separate contracts with APPDCL.
