ITT Corporation in consortium with Megha Engineering and Infrastructures has
bagged two contracts worth a total $22 million (approx Rs.107.8 crore) from
Andhra Pradesh Irrigation & Command Area Development Department to supply a
number of high-end water pumps for Pranahita Chevella and Chintalpudi Irrigation
Systems projects in Andhra Pradesh.
For the
Pranahita Chevella Lift Irrigation System, ITT pumps are expected to lift 79
cubic mtrs of water per second from Thipparam Reservoir to supply it to the
Chevella Reservoir.
At the
Chintalpudi Lift Irrigation System, the pumps are expected to lift 56 cubic
mtrs of water per second from the Godavari River and supply it to the Jaleru
Reservoir in three stages.
ITT is likely to manufacture about ninety per cent of these products from
it's recently inaugurated facility near Vadodara in Gujarat.
Apart from the supply of pumps, the scope of work includes complete sump and
pump modeling and supervision of installation, with delivery slated for late
2010.
