BGR Boilers, a SPV of BGR Energy Systems is likely to set up its first boiler
manufacturing plant by 2011 at an investment of Rs 500 crore.
The company has shortlisted three different locations in Gujarat, Andhra
Pradesh and Tamil Nadu for setting up the proposed facility. The boiler facility
is expected to attain its full capacity of 5,000 MW by 2014. Of the total
investment, 70 per cent of the funds will come through debt and the rest through
internal accruals.
For designing, making and marketing super-critical coal fired steam
generators (boilers) and sub-critical coal fired steam generators (boilers) of
up to 1,000 MW, the company has signed a 20-year licensing agreement with Foster
Wheeler North America Corporation, USA.
