Maruti Suzuki India plans to set up a research and development (R&D) centre
including a testing track at Manesar in Haryana. The company is in discussion
with the state government for the Rs 1,800 crore project which is likely to come
up on 500 acre.
The R&D centre-cum-testing track will include equipment like wind tunnel
system, actual road conditions for testing and facilities for research on safety
and newer technologies as well.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki does its R&D for new models at its research centre
in Japan and at Gurgaon, Haryana.
