Voltas' engineering products and services business has bagged an order for a
model of hydraulic excavator, along with a maintenance and repair contract,
worth total of Rs 210 crore from Hindustan Zinc.
The item of equipment is Terex O&K's RH-340B excavator; an order for three of
these, along with 34 cubic mtrs buckets are to be commissioned by September 2009
at the company's Rampura Agucha open-cast mines in Rajasthan.
In another development, the company's electro-mechanical business has won two
orders worth a total Rs 38 crore. The first order is from Tata Steel for a 25
million gallons/day (mgd) water treatment plant at Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) while
the second order is from Kolkata Metropolitan Water & Sanitation Authority for a
15 mgd water treatment plant as well as a UGR cum pump station of 0.75 mgd
capacity.
