The Department of Tourism, Karnataka, proposes to develop an aqua marine park
and a golf resort at Tannirbavi beach, about 12 km from Mangalore at an outlay
of over Rs 300 crore.
An 18-hole golf course and a 50-room five-star hotel are to come up as part
of the project through PPP mode.
The tourism department has been allotted around 155 acre at Bengre village
near Mangalore where the Tannirbavi beach is located. About 25 acre is likely to
be used for the park and the golf resort is expected to sprawl over 130 acre.
The department will provide the required land for the project, while the
private company will have to invest the money to develop the project. Karnataka
State Industrial Investment and Development Corporation is in the process to
invite tenders for the project.
