Diamond Power Infrastructure has commenced trial production of High Tension
(HT) and Low Tension (LT) cables at its plant at Vadodara in Gujarat.
With this expansion, the company's HT cables capacity will increase from
2,800 to 5,600 km per annum and the LT Cables capacity will raise from 8,800 to
33,800 km per annum. The company has invested Rs 125 crore in the expansion.
Meanwhile, the company's extra high voltage expansion project is in advanced
stage of commissioning and shall start production in June 2010. The 48,000 tonne
transmission tower project is also expected to be commissioned by April 2010.
