Thailand based Srithai Superware plans to invest $32 million (approx Rs 146
crore) in India to set up four facilities in India by 2015.
The four plants are likely to have a total capacity of 12,000 tonne of
melamine products annually. The first plant, which will be somewhere in North
India, probably near Delhi, is to be operational by early 2011. Initially, the
company plans to source the molds and other raw material from Thailand for use
at its India plants.
While 70 per cent of the investment for the facilities is to be made by the
company's global office, the rest will come from a local partner. Therefore, the
company is scouting for local partners to form a JV.
