Sushilkumar Shinde, Union Minister of Power, on 14 March 2010, laid the foundation for Bharat Forge
and NTPC's JV manufacturing facility - BF-NTPC Energy Systems - at Solapur in
Maharashtra at a cost of Rs 350 crore for power equipment.
Being set up over 100 acre, this facility will include world-class
manufacturing, fabrication, assembly and testing facilities for the product
lines and field services.
The JV is aimed at serving power sector (thermal, hydro and nuclear) with its
product range having wider application across other sectors like oil and gas,
petrochemicals, steel and mining.
The facility’s main focus will be to offer complete package solutions for
power and other industries in India and abroad.
