The Gujarat Government proposes to construct a 110-km long express highway
between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar to connect the former with the international
airport coming up at the Special Investment Region (SIR) at Dholera. The
expressway is expected to pass via Sarkhej-Pipali-Dholera.
The project is likely to cost Rs 2,200 crore.
As per sources, in Phase I, the state government will broaden the road over
the next two years, simultaneously completing the land acquisition and the
mapping for the expressway.
