MSRDC is planning to develop passenger transport system along the west coast
in Mumbai.
The Rs 1,200-crore sea transport project is likely to link Borivali, Marve
(Near Malad), Versova, Juhu, Bandra with Nariman Point with a catamaran and
hovercraft service. The project is to be completed in 18 months.
The MoEF has already given clearance to the project which is to be developed
on PPP basis. Also, the project has got the much-needed boost after the state
government agreed to sign the state support agreement. With this, the bidders
will get state government guarantee against the money they raise for the
project.
