The NHAI is planning to lay two stretches of by-pass road on the Madurai-Shengcottah
highway in Tamil Nadu.
The Rajapalayam by-pass road stretching 25.800 km is likely to be laid at a
cost of Rs 217.60 crore. The by-pass is expected to branch out at Solaicheri
junction and join the highways at Poovani near the Government Horticulture farm.
Similarly, the Seithur by-pass road for 2.800 km is likely to cost around Rs
16.50 crore. These by-pass roads are expected to de-congest vehicular traffic in
Rajapalayam and Srivilliputtur towns.
