The Jaypee Group has earmarked Rs 70,000 crore to build the 1,047-km long
Noida-Ballia Ganga Expressway project by 2015.
In 2008, Jaypee Ganga Infrastructure Corporation, SPV, had signed an
agreement with Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority for
constructing an eight-lane expressway connecting Greater Noida and Ballia in
Bihar.
The SPV is likely to acquire 33,000 acre for the project, of which the
expressway will alone require 28,000 acre. The total capex planned for the
project includes land acquisition cost. Out of the total amount, the group plans
to invest Rs 35,000-38,000 crore in constructing the expressway. It will also
develop 6,175 acre at five locations along the expressway for commercial,
industrial, institutional, residential and amusement purposes.
