Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has announced that Telangana will undergo the redevelopment of 40 railway stations, aiming to improve passenger amenities and connectivity.
A key project is the Rs 36 crore redevelopment of Hitec City station, which is being revamped with new facilities, including extended footbridges, lifts, escalators, modern toilets, and an enhanced concourse. Phase I of the work at Hitec City is expected to be completed by February 2026. Additionally, the Secunderabad and Hyderabad stations are also undergoing extensive upgrades, with Rs 720 crore and Rs 350 crore investments, respectively.
The redevelopment aligns with the broader vision of improving urban transportation under PM Modi's leadership. “In Telangana, 40 railway stations are being redeveloped with modern facilities,” said Kishan Reddy. The project will also cater to the growing number of passengers, including during peak travel times like the Dasara and Diwali festivals.
