A new 400-bed hospital combining a 200-bed super specialty unit and a 200-bed women’s hospital is planned for Pune’s Aundh District Hospital (ADH) premises. The proposal, submitted to the Maharashtra state government on September 19, 2025, outlines using around 8,140 square meters of cleared government land on the ADH campus for construction.
The project is estimated to cost Rs 1,527 crore and aims to address growing healthcare demands. It will generate approximately 693 jobs, with an annual salary expenditure of Rs 32.31 crore. The plan has received attention from local officials, including a directive to expedite it and support from BJP MLA Shankar Jagtap, who advocated for a super specialty hospital on the ADH campus earlier this year.
The new hospital will replace six old and unsafe residential buildings currently on the site, modernizing healthcare infrastructure in Pune. The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen specialized medical facilities in the region.
