The redevelopment of Bhuj railway station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme has reached 75 percent completion.
This Rs 180-crore project, part of a nationwide plan to modernise 1,275 stations, features a design inspired by the Rann of Kutch. The station, slated for completion by April 2026, will have modern facilities including 13 lifts, 10 escalators, underground parking for 480 vehicles, and electric vehicle charging stations. Other key features include a 500 KWP solar power plant, rainwater harvesting, and a sewage treatment plant.
Additionally, the station will have a 3,240 sq. mtrs. concourse, improved passenger flow systems, and eco-friendly elements like a 250-tonne HVAC system. This upgrade aligns with regional connectivity plans, boosting tourism and trade in the area.
