Gurugram Metro Rail (GMRL) marked the beginning of the first phase of the Gurugram Metro Rail project with the casting of the first concrete pile in Sector-45 on 10 February, 2026.
This marks the start of on-ground construction for the project, which will run from Millennium City Centre to Subash Chowk. “In the first phase, the contractor will be casting around 3,000 piles from Millennium City Centre to Sector 9 station. There will be around 750 pillars that will be constructed and a large number of these will become visible by the end of May between Subash Chowk and Millennium City Centre,” an official said.
The Metro corporation is also working on finalising the alignment and tendering for the second phase of the project.
