ABB India, the power and automation company, secured a Rs 55 crore order from
Italian-Thai Development Public Company and ITD Cementation, the contractors for
the modernisation of Kolkata Airport project.
ABB's scope of work envisages critical electrical infrastructure and control
systems to ensure reliable power supply to the airport. The solution is expected
to consist of several power technologies, including power and distribution
transformers, low voltage switchgear, power backup etc. The contract job also
includes complete system engineering, supply, installation, testing,
commissioning and overall project management.
The new integrated passenger terminal which is being built over 180,000 sq
mtrs is likely to be completed by 2011.
