Acme Solar Holdings has commissioned an additional 75 MW of renewable energy at its Sikar Solar project in Rajasthan, raising the site’s operational capacity to 240 MW out of the planned 300 MW.
With this, Acme Solar’s total commissioned renewable energy capacity has reached 2,806.4 MW. Spread across 1,300 acres in Bikaner, the project is strategically located in one of India’s highest solar irradiation zones, reinforcing Acme’s commitment to India’s green energy goals. The Sikar Solar project, financed by Power Finance Corporation (PFC), is expected to generate approx. 780 million units of clean electricity annually once fully operational. Power from the site is collected at inverter stations and transmitted via a dedicated 220 kV single-circuit line connected to the Bikaner-II grid substation.
“The Sikar project is an important step in Acme’s roadmap to support India’s clean energy ambitions,” the company stated. The 300 MW capacity was awarded under the SECI-ISTS XVIII scheme at a tariff of Rs 3.05 per unit. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is expected to be signed soon. Until then, power generated from the existing 240 MW is being sold in the merchant market through power exchanges.
