Adani Energy Solutions (AESL) has earned the prestigious 'ZeroWaste-to-Landfill' (ZWL) certification from global quality assurance provider Intertek for all its operational sites and corporate headquarters.
AESL achieved a 100 percent diversion rate, ensuring no waste from its 54 locations across 16 states is sent to landfills. The certification signifies that all waste generated is managed through reduction, reuse, recycling, or recovery, conserving resources and minimizing the need for fresh raw materials. Despite many sites being in remote and challenging areas, AESL maintained diversion rates above 99 percent for three consecutive years before reaching the perfect 100 percent this year.
The company is the first transmission utility in India to sustain over 99 percent waste diversion for three years running. AESL's commitment to environment, social, and governance (ESG) practices started in FY21, aiming to rank among the top 10 electric utilities worldwide in ESG benchmarks.
