Attero, India’s largest critical minerals company and a global leader in urban mining, has announced an investment of approx. Rs 150 crore to expand its recycling and R&D network.
The expansion includes new e-waste recycling plants in Pune, Bengaluru, and Faridabad, a copper recycling plant in Reengus, Rajasthan, and an upgraded R&D Centre of Excellence in Greater Noida. India generates over 3.8 million tonne of e-waste annually, and Attero aims to formalise the recycling process, ensuring safer metal recovery and improved material traceability. With this expansion, Attero’s processing capacity will increase to 2,44,000 tonnes per year.
The new facilities will leverage cutting-edge technology, including robotic dismantling lines, automated battery cutters, and energy-efficient systems. The company expects the expansion to create 800–1,000 employment opportunities across various operations. Founded in 2008, Attero specialises in recovering over 22 critical metals, and its innovations reinforce its leadership in sustainable resource recovery and urban mining.
