Advait Energy Transitions has been declared as a qualified bidder for a significant battery storage system in Gujarat.
The work involves setting up a 50 MW/500 MWh of a project of 500 MW/1000 MWh standalone battery energy storage system under Phase-IV of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam's (GUVNL) tariff-based global competitive bidding. This initiative, supported by viability gap funding (VGF), introduced by GUVNL, capped at Rs 2.7 million per MWh or 30 percent of the project's capital cost, whichever is lower. aims to enhance energy reliability and sustainability in the region. The project has been allocated at a competitive tariff of Rs 226,000 per MW per month.
Advait Energy Transitions will implement this initiative under the build-own-operate model, with GUVNL signing a long-term battery energy storage purchase agreement to ensure procurement of storage capacity. The contract, to be completed within 18 months, marks a crucial step in advancing battery storage capabilities in India.
