Allanasons is
planning to set up an agro processing unit at Kuppam in Chittoor district of
Andhra Pradesh. The project is estimated to cost Rs.75 crore.
According to the General Manager of Allanasons, Dr C K Thota, the ground
work for the project has already commenced. The unit is expected to be
completed within a year. The Andhra Pradesh chief minister has promised to
allot about 50-60 acres from the land developed under the umbrella of Israeli
technology. The plant would primarily focus on processing of fruits, vegetables
and flowers, which are of exportable varieties.
The company has already set up a Rs.100 crore agro export unit in Medak
district of Andhra Pradesh.
The Allanasons
group also plans to set an exclusive
export division for rearing fish in the coastal belt region. This division is
expected to come up during 2003.
