Ami Organics Electrolytes has commenced its regular commercial operations for manufacturing and supplying products for lithium-ion battery cells.
Lithium-ion battery cells are used in various applications, including smartphones, laptops, electric vehicles (EVs), energy storage systems (ESS) and many other portable electronic devices. Ami Organics' lithium-ion business is a separate division based in Noida.
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ami Organics, the company had acquired the business a couple of years ago, and now supplies across the EVs and the semiconductor ecosystem. It is collaborating with a supplier to Divi’s Lab and some European pharma manufacturers to play a key role in the semiconductor and EV cycle.
Earlier, the company had announced developing two products, one liquid electrolyte additive to increase the electrolyte capacity of lithium batteries and one for solid batteries. In December 2023, Ami Organics announced the establishment of a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Ankleshwar, Gujarat, with an investment of about Rs 200 crore. This initiative highlights the company's dedication to fostering its presence in the advanced pharmaceutical intermediates sector.
