Andhra Pradesh government has signed a Rs 515 crore agreement with a consortium led by ThunderPlus to develop a multi-modal electric vehicle (EV) mobility and charging infrastructure across the state.
The MoU was formalised with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board during the Andhra Pradesh Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on 18 November, 2025. The initiative aims to enhance clean transportation and create employment for over 5,000 people, including direct and indirect roles in fleet operations and charging management. ThunderPlus will build a comprehensive charging backbone, deploying ultra-fast chargers along highways and urban corridors.
The first phase will cover regions like Amaravati and Visakhapatnam. Additionally, the project will integrate EV manufacturing, city mobility, and a unified digital ticketing platform developed by Roqit. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu assured fast-track clearances for its execution. ThunderPlus CEO Rajeev YSR said, "This partnership is a decisive step toward making Andhra Pradesh India’s clean mobility capital."
