Projects Today has learnt from Andhra Sugars that the company is currently awaiting environmental clearance (EC) for expansion of its unit in Andhra Pradesh.
The company plans to expand the capacity from 7,445 kpd to 12,650 kpd of its synthetic organic chemicals manufacturing unit at Venkatarayapuram in West Godavari district.
Expansion worth Rs 102 crore will be carried out in two phases and occupy 5.9 acre of land. In May 2018, Andhra Sugars was granted terms of reference (ToR).
The recent developments shared with Projects Today indicate that financial closure was underway for the project. Contractor and machinery supplier are yet to be finalised. However, the promoter is optimistic to commence work by April 2019.
