Apollo AyurVAID, one of India’s largest Ayurvedic hospital chains, plans to expand its national footprint to 1,000 beds by 2028, fueled by increasing demand for Ayurvedic treatments.
The chain currently operates 12 hospitals with 185 beds and treats around 40,000 to 42,000 patients annually. It is targeting 2,00,000 patients annually within five years and aims to achieve Rs.500 crore in turnover by that time. Founder, CEO, and MD Rajiv Vasudevan shared that expansion is underway in cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, and the chain expects to reach 225 beds by the end of August 2025. Most facilities currently house 40 to 45 beds.
Apollo AyurVAID treats a wide range of conditions including stroke and cancer rehabilitation, Parkinsonism, diabetes, infertility, and rheumatism. Apollo Hospitals Enterprise acquired a 60 percent stake in AyurVAID for Rs.26.4 crore in 2022. “There has been an overall investment of Rs.80 crore, and the revenue CAGR has been around 75%. We ended FY25 with Rs.32 crore in revenue and expect to hit Rs.100 crore annual run rate within 12–15 months,” MD Vasudevan said.
