Apollo Hospitals has launched a new 250-bed facility. in Pune as part of a phased expansion in western India, with plans to add 250 more beds over the next two years.
The new facility aims to meet rising demand in the region, which now brings the company’s total capacity in western India to 1,000 beds, including locations in Navi Mumbai and Nashik. Suneeta Reddy, Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, shared that the Pune hospital is expected to reach 50 percent occupancy in five months and break even within 10 months.
Apollo is also set to continue expanding with additional facilities in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. The company is committed to investing Rs 8,000 crore to add 4,300 beds over the next four years. MD Reddy emphasised the steady demand for quality healthcare due to India's critical shortage of hospital beds.
