Bihar is set to expand its healthcare system by constructing 50-bed Ayush hospitals in seven districts during the 2026-27 financial year.
Health Minister Mangal Pandey announced this initiative aimed at enhancing access to traditional medicine, particularly Ayurveda, in districts like Begusarai, Darbhanga, Motihari, Gopalganj, Gaya, Madhubani, and Siwan. During a workshop for Ayush practitioners in Patna, Pandey emphasised the importance of capacity-building for practitioners of Ayurveda, homeopathy, and Unani systems. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership, as the state accelerates Ayush promotion.
The initiative also supports the ongoing operation of 294 health and wellness centers in Bihar, offering Ayush-based treatments.
