The Directorate of Medical Education, Training & Research, Arunachal Pradesh, has issued a tender for the establishment of a 100-seat medical college and the augmentation of an attached 100-bed district hospital.
The contract involves the design, construction, financing, equipping, furnishing, and operation of both the hospital and the medical college. Estimated at Rs 356.6 crore, the development will be in line with the National Medical Commission (NMC) norms, and would be implemented on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis. The medical college will have an annual intake of at least 100 MBBS students, utilising the existing facilities of the district hospital in Namsai. The selected bidder will be responsible for the development, operation, and transfer of the facilities after completion. This project aims to enhance healthcare infrastructure in the region while providing quality medical education to aspiring students.
