The supply of piped natural gas (PNG) to households in Baihata, Hajo, Sualkuchi, and Rangia is set to begin soon, with pipeline-laying works scheduled to start in phases from late October.
Purba Bharati Gas (PBGPL) — a joint venture of Assam Gas Company , Oil India, and GAIL Gas, has informed Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of the project’s commencement. The initiative aims to deliver clean, uninterrupted cooking gas to homes, supporting Assam’s sustainable energy goals.
A small technical launch event will be held with local representatives and dignitaries, followed by a formal inauguration of domestic piped natural gas (DPNG) services led by the Chief Minister, once infrastructure testing is complete.
