Aster DM Healthcare plans to add 1,500 beds in the next two to three years as part of its expansion plans, with an allocation of around Rs 800-850 crore.
The expansion will take the healthcare provider's bed tally to India to 6,000-plus beds, including the upcoming Aster Capital in Thiruvananthapuram with more than 350 beds in the first phase by FY26 and Aster MIMS Kasargod with about 200-plus beds. It will fuel capacity addition in Medcity, MIMS Kannur by about 100 beds each and Aster Whitefield with 159 beds.
The company, with plans to enter markets is also exploring opportunities in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. To set up a hospital similar to its current model, in terms of size and structure, it is actively considering Pune and Nagpur for expansion plans.
The multispecialty hospital chain has a presence in Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with 19 hospitals, 13 clinics, 226 pharmacies with a total of 4,000-plus operational beds in India currently.
