Aster DM Healthcare has announced a Rs 120 crore investment to set up five advanced Oncology Radiation LINAC Centres across India, aiming to provide free or subsidised cancer treatment to underprivileged patients.
The first centre will be established in Wayanad, Kerala, and will serve the broader Malabar region, including neighbouring areas. Additional centres will be set up in Bengaluru and other cities over the next three years, based on community needs. Azad Moopen, Founder & Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, stated, "By establishing five state-of-the-art radiation LINAC therapy centres, we aim to bridge critical gaps in oncology services and ensure that patients receive timely, lifesaving treatment closer to home."
The initiative will offer high-quality radiation therapy to those from economically weaker sections who cannot afford life-saving treatment. The centres will be part of Aster Volunteers, the company's global CSR initiative, which focuses on community health and socio-economic development.
