Hyderabad-based Rainbow Children’s Hospital Group, one of India’s leading pediatric and perinatal care providers, is set to expand its presence in North India by adding nearly 900 beds over the next three years.
Of these, around 450 beds will be established in the National Capital Region (NCR). This expansion represents a significant shift for the hospital network, which has primarily focused on southern states such as Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The Group is now targeting Delhi NCR, recognising the region as a key area for future growth.
"Our next big strategic bet is Delhi NCR. NCR is the future of children’s healthcare for North India, with Gurugram emerging as a major healthcare hub," said the company’s spokesperson. As part of its expansion strategy, the chain plans to shift its focus from South India to North India.
The expansion pipeline includes several key locations, such as around 90 beds in Electronic City and 60 beds in Hennur, Bengaluru; approx. 150 beds in Pune; and about 130 beds in Coimbatore. To support this growth, Rainbow is reportedly looking to invest around Rs 900 crore, utilising a combination of greenfield development and an asset-light satellite hospital model.
