Azad Engineering, Hyderabad-based precision engineering company, has closed its first round of funding of USD 20 million (about Rs 145 crore) from DMI Management, which the company will utilise in setting up its second manufacturing facility at Shamirpet, Telangana, at a total investment of USD 80 million (about Rs 585 crore).
The project will create 1,500 jobs locally. The company’s new facility will spread across 50 acre allotted by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC).
Upon successful operationalisation of the facility, the manufacturing capacity will be expanded to deliver increased capability to cater to Aerospace and Energy partners.
The company’s expansion plan will help execute order book of USD 250 million (over Rs 1,800 crore) secured for the next five years.
Azad is a qualified Tier-1 partner to global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as GE, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Toshiba, MAN, Doosan Skoda, Honeywell, Eaton Corporation, Rafael, BHEL, HAL, among others.
The company envisions transforming the entire manufacturing industry using digital manufacturing and industrial artificial intelligence right from the design process and production floor to the supply chain and administration.
