The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has finalised Kalinganagar,
Subudhipur and Paikraipur areas in the city for developing its low-cost housing
projects.
A total of 800 dwelling units are expected to be built in these locations.
These housing projects will be developed on four acre at Subudhipur, three acre
at Kalinganagar and two acre at Paikraipur.
BDA plans to investment of Rs 80-100 crore on developing 1,000 dwelling units
which are likely to be a mix of 1-BHK, 2-BHK and 3-BHK flats.
The architects have submitted their plans for the mass housing projects and
the plan is under scrutiny by the authority. Tenders for construction work are
set to be floated within a month. Construction work on these projects is
expected to commence in early 2010 and are likely to be commissioned by the
end-2011.
While 1-BHK flat will comprise a built-up area of 700 sq ft and will be
priced at Rs seven-eight lakh, a 2-BHK flat with a built-up area of 1,000-1,200
sq ft will be available in the range of Rs 12-15 lakh. Similarly, a 3-BHK flat
with a built-up area of 1,500-1,700 sq ft is to be priced at Rs 20-25 lakh.
