Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has bagged an order from Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals (BCGCL), a joint venture between BHEL and Coal India (CIL).
The letter of acceptance (LoA) received for the order pertains to the coal gasification and raw syngas cleaning plant (LSTK 1 Package) for BCGCL's Coal to 2000 TPD Ammonium Nitrate Project, located in Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda District, Odisha. The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply of equipment, civil works, erection, commissioning, and operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the project. With a total value of approx. Rs 5,400 crore (excluding GST).
The contract is to be completed within 42 months, with preliminary acceptance, commissioning, and performance guarantee tests to be conducted within that time frame. O&M services will be provided for 60 months after preliminary acceptance. The project is a significant step in advancing coal gasification technology and ammonia production in India.
