Bharat Heavy Electricals bagged an
order worth Rs.129 crore from Hindustan Zinc for setting up a captive power
plant at Jawar Mines in Udaipur district of Rajasthan.
BHEL's scope of work envisages design,
engineering, manufacture, supply, installation, erection, testing and
commissioning of the power plant. Major equipment to be supplied includes 80 MW
steam turbine generator and 320 tph pulverised fuel fired boilers with
state-of-the-art controls and instrumentation (C&I) and all associated
auxiliaries.
The steam turbine generator will be
manufactured at BHEL's Hyderabad plant, the boiler will be manufactured at its
Trichy plant. BHEL's electronics division, Bangalore will supply the control
system and the auxiliaries will be supplied by its Ranipet plant. The erection
and commissioning of the equipment will be carried out by the company's power
sector - Western region, Nagpur.
BHEL has earlier executed a turnkey
order for two units of 77 MW each at HZL's CPP Chanderia lead zinc smelter plant
in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan. Presently, for HZL, the company is
executing another order for one unit of 80 MW at the same captive power plant.
