Bharat Heavy Electricals bagged orders
worth Rs.6,500 crore from Damodar Valley Corporation for setting up 2x500 MW at
Koderma thermal power station in Jharkhand and 2x500 MW at
Durgapur steel thermal power station in West Bengal, both on turnkey basis.
BHEL's scope of work in the contract
envisages manufacture, supply, erection testing and commissioning of steam
turbines, generators, boilers, associated auxiliaries, balance of plant and
electricals besides state-of-the-art controls & instrumentation (C&I),
electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) and switchyard, including civil works.
Both the projects are scheduled for
completion by 2012.
