BMW Industries plans to expand its business by setting up a manufacturing plant in Bokaro, Jharkhand, to strengthen its downstream steel processing capabilities and meet growing demand. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 803.47 crore, will be funded through internal accruals and debt.

The facility will develop a downstream steel complex with an annual production capacity of 3,00,000 TPA of cold rolled full hard coil/sheet, 5,40,000 TPA of galvanised coil/sheet, and 2,00,000 TPA of colour coated coils/sheets. The company already owns the required industrial land for this greenfield project, which will be developed in phases over two years. The first plant is expected to commence commercial operations in FY26.

"The project’s proximity to the Haldia/Kolkata port, located at a distance of approximately 300 kilometre, will facilitate access to global markets," the company stated. Its location near raw material sources will also ensure a stable supply chain. The company has obtained approval from the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board to proceed with the establishment.
