The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) is evaluating the feasibility of extending the Namma Metro Pink Line from KR Puram to Hoskote, covering a stretch of about 16 km.
The proposed extension will feature a unique double-decker corridor, combining a Metro line and a flyover in one structure. A feasibility study for the project is currently being conducted by Delhi-based Introsaptt Solutions. The study will assess technical viability, traffic patterns, station locations, cost estimates, and the overall sustainability of the corridor. Based on the findings, a detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared. The KR Puram–Hoskote extension is expected to enhance public transport access for residents in Bengaluru Rural district and the eastern outskirts of the city. Currently, commuters from Hoskote rely on distant Metro stations, resulting in long travel times.
The new corridor will connect key growth zones like Budigere Cross, Katamnallur Gate, and Hoskote Toll Plaza, supporting infrastructure developments such as the Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway and the Satellite Ring Road.
