Bata India has infused Rs 300 million into its Batanagar factory in West Bengal as part of its ongoing transformation strategy aimed at modernizing manufacturing operations.
The investment focuses on installing advanced technologies such as the polyurethane direct injection process (PUDIP) and IM EVA machines to manufacture high-performance product lines like Floatz and Bata Industrial footwear. According to Anjan Kundu, Head of Supply Chain Management at Bata India, this upgrade marks a crucial milestone in the company’s journey to boost innovation, improve product quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
This investment also aligns with Bata India’s broader growth plans, which include expanding its retail footprint in non-metro areas. Over the past year, the company has opened nearly 130 new stores, with more than half located in smaller towns. With over 500 stores nationwide, Bata India is reinforcing its position as a key player in the Indian footwear industry.
