Hwaseung Footwear, a leading South Korean footwear manufacturer and major global OEM supplier for brands like Adidas, is set to invest Rs 898 crore in a cutting-edge non-leather footwear manufacturing plant in Kuppam, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.
The greenfield project, approved by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), will be spread across a 100-acre industrial campus at Pogurupalle, Gudupalle Mandal, positioning Kuppam as an emerging hub for global footwear production. The facility is expected to generate approx. 17,645 direct jemployment, significantly enhancing economic activity and livelihoods in the region.
Hwaseung plans to execute the project in three phases: Phase I with Rs 308.92 crore, Phase II with Rs 298.44 crore, and Phase III with Rs 291.53 crore. The strategic investment reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing and non-leather footwear innovation, while boosting Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth and attracting further foreign investments.
