West Bengal over a period of three
years is likely to get an investment of about Rs.1,000 crore in the
non-conventional energy sector. West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency
(WBREDA) is also planning to invite private entrepreneurs to set up a 50 MW
non-conventional energy projects in the state.
Currently, the total capacity in the
state for renewable energy is 40-45 MW and 60 MW will be added by 2007. By 2008
the total power generated from renewable sources is expected to be 100 MW which
will go up to 250 MW by 2012.
