Berger Paints and Dhunseri Group are looking at investing approximately Rs 500 crore at Panagarh Industrial Park near the industrial township of Durgapur in West Bengal. The companies have already sought land for their respective projects.
The paints manufacturing company is contemplating to invest around Rs 100 crore to manufacture construction chemicals and putty.
Dhunseri Ventures plans to set up a packaging material unit primarily for food processing, cosmetics, personal care and pharmaceuticals industries at an estimated investment of Rs 400 crore.
Berger Paints has received in-principle nod for 22 acre of land from the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation while Dhunseri Ventures sought 38 acre in the industrial park.
This will be Berger Paints third unit in West Bengal, with the other two located at Shibpur in Howrah district and Rishra in Hooghly district.
Dhunseri Group has its petrochemical plant at Haldia and is seeking land at the industrial park for its downstream project.
