Bihar’s newly launched renewable energy policy aims to attract Rs 1.5 lakh crore in investments and create around 1.25 lakh work opportunities by FY30, according to the state's Energy Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh.
The policy, titled Promotion of Bihar New and Renewable Energy Sources 2025, sets a target of harnessing 23.96 GW of renewable energy capacity and 6.1 GW of storage. Key incentives include SGST reimbursement, waiver of electricity duty, and a streamlined single-window clearance system to simplify project approvals. This highlights Bihar's commitment to not only lead in clean energy adoption but also contribute significantly to India’s Net Zero targets.
The policy also focuses on promoting new and efficient technologies, increasing awareness of renewable energy integration, and maximizing stakeholder participation in green energy development. “This policy positions Bihar as one of the most attractive destinations for renewable energy investments,” Manoj Kumar Singh stated. He assured potential investors of consistent policy support and lucrative returns, signaling Bihar’s vision to become the next renewable energy hub of the country.
