Boeing India will open a 43-acre complex located at Aerospace Park in Devanahalli, near the Kempegowda International Airport in North Bengaluru, Karnataka. Built with Rs 1,600 crore investment, the facility is slated to be the largest site for Boeing outside the United States.
The company has set a Rs 10,000 crore annual target for increasing sourcing from India, from the existing Rs 8,000 crore. The strategic importance of Devanahalli as an emerging commercial hub of the city is led by its proximity to the airport, as well as the upcoming Blue Metro Line (KR Pura-Yelahanka-KIA). These developments have led to enhanced job opportunities and scope for business expansion in the region.
Earlier this year, Boeing had announced a USD 100 million investment in infrastructure and programs to train pilots in India, after Air India signed firm orders of over 200 jets from Boeing.
Boeing’s India operations include field service offices in Mumbai, Hindan, Rajali and New Delhi, and Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) in Bengaluru and Chennai.
